About Us
This website is brought to you by a couple of Canadian engineers who are stellar individuals. No, I mean it – we really are. Leon David Michaud is a process engineer who wishes he was a mining engineer. Because he spent 4 years learning English while simultaneously graduating with an engineering degree, we cognizanti are willing to cut him some slack because that could not have been easy to do – and that is the soul and spirit of mining engineering. We are the ones who do the hard stuff that others can’t or won’t do. You are welcome!
Murray Lytle is a mining engineer who wishes he was an historian. His career has sent him ricocheting about the world bumping into interesting people like David and from that particular collision, this website was born.
We recognize that people in other professions may feel that by aggrandizing ours we are putting them down. To them we have only this to say, “Trust your feelings!” This is not to be harsh or to belittle your puny efforts but rather to elevate what is one of the truly great untold epic stories of all time – the Rhyme of the Mining Engineer if you will.
If you feel strongly that we have misrepresented the noble race of mining engineers or you share our frustration or you have nothing better to do then why not drop us a line. We might even write back.
